Learn Turkish Lesson 3 - Frequently Used Sentences (DAY 2)

DAY 2 Merhaba arkadaşlar. I hope you are following my lessons from Lesson 1 (DAY 1). Today is the Second day of Lesson 3. and we will continue from where we left. So Let's Start........... Remember we are learning Frequently used sentences. Maybe: We use the word, ''Maybe'' Frequently and it's also important to learn it How to say in Turkish. So I will give you two ways of saying this one word. First one is, ''Belki'' it means, ''Maybe or perhaps'' . when someone asks something and you are not sure about it, then you say, ''Belki'' .  And the other way to say it is, ''Olabilir'' , it also can means ''Maybe or Perhaps'' . I'm not saying that these are the only way to say ''Maybe'' in Turkish. You can use other words with a little twisting. But these are most common. That's why I prefer you use these two words. It's good: ...

Learn Turkish Lesson 2 - Introduction (Giriş) DAY 1

Hello friends, I hope you are following my Turkish lessons from the first lesson (Day 1).

Now we are going to start our Second Lesson. It's also going to be for several days. You just need to read as much you can understand from it. Never confuse yourself. You can also watch the video version of these articles, where I explain very well with the pronunciation and also examples. OK

So let's start our lesson😃

DAY 1

Introduction

So this is Introduction part. we will move slowly until you become good in the Turkish language. Ok.

In Turkish ''Introduction'' means ''Giriş''. and also means ''Tanıtım''. and also means ''Başlangıç'' But here ''Giriş'' and ''Başlangıç'' fits very well. Because we are starting to introduce each other.
And another way is ''Kendini tanıtmak'' which means ''Introducing yourself''. So you better choose the right word for yourself while you are going to use ''Introduction'' word, OK.😊

What's your name?

If you want to ask someone's name in Turkish you say,
''Adınız ne?'' or ''İsminiz ne?'' both means ''What's your name?''
''Ad'' means ''name'' and the same way ''İsim'' means ''name''
You can use any of them.

To answer you can say, ''Benim adım .....your name here.''
Or you can say, ''Benim ismim .....your name here.'' Which means,
''My name is ...... ''
''Benim'' means ''My''. and of course you can ask me your question in the comment box below if you don't understand any of them. OK.😉

Nice to meet you

You can say, ''Tanıştığıma memnun oldum'' which means ''I am happy to meet you or to know''
If you want to say, ''With Pleasure'' you can say, ''Zevkle'' Or ''Memnuniyetle''. Both means ''With pleasure''.
Here ''Zevk'' means ''Pleasure'' and ''Memnuniyet'' also means ''Pleasure''

How to ask age?

''Kaç yaşındasın?''  it means ''How old are you?'' this is (informal)
''Kaç yaşındasınız?'' it is (formal) way.
You should use the (formal) way when you are speaking or talking to any Turkish people for the first time. It's important in every language. Not just in Turkish. It's a kind of respecting others.😊

To answer you can say, ''Ben....your age...yaşındayım'' which literally means, ''I am.... in years age.'' But it's translated as,
''I am .....years old''.

Of course, it is a little bit different than the English. So don't think all the languages should have the same grammar rules like English, Ok😄

Where are you from?

Of course, these are very important to use when you are meeting someone for the first time. So that you will not feel strange and just looking at the face of each other.😆

To ask ''Where are you from?'' you will say, ''Nerelisiniz?'' and it's (formal). and the (informal) way is, ''Nerelisin?''. and of course the meaning is same.

To answer you will say, ''Ben ...Your country....liyim /lıyım / 'danım
Depending on the names of the country. I will give you some examples so that you will not get confused.

''Ben Türkiyeliyim'', ''I am from Turkey''
''Ben Almanya'danım'', ''I am from Germany''
''Ben Afganistanlyım'', ''I am from Afghanistan''

As you can see you can use any of them. But ''lıyım'' is mostly used when you are talking about your nationality.
You can also skip ''Ben'' while you are saying ''I am from''. You can just say, ''Afganistanlıyım'' which means ''I am from Afghanistan''.
So ''lıyım'' itself means ''I am from'' Ok.
And of course, the comment section is available if you don't understand any of them. Ask me and I will answer you as soon as possible.😊

I think we should stop here for today. If you are capable of reading and learning a lot, then move to the next day and start reading and learning them. I will not stop you... Otherwise, practice these and when you are able to learn more, then you can move to the next day of this lesson. OK

Don't forget to Follow, Share, and Comment

Note: You can also watch the Video Version of these articles, where you can learn the pronunciation of all of them correctly.

Until next day, Goodbye (Hoşça kal)
